Location

The newest addition to the RED SEA HOTELS family, the Sunwing Waterworld Makadi Hotel offers a beachfront location with impressive views over Makadi Bay. There is a coral sand beach (beach shoes recommended) with slopes gently towards a beautiful coral reef. Snorkelling equipment can be borrowed free of charge.

The hotel is linked to the neighbouring Makadi Spa Hotel, Makadi Palace Hotel and the Grand Makadi Hotel by a promenade that extends along the shore. Guests can enjoy an additional selection of bars, restaurants and evening entertainment at the nearby Makadi Mall, or take the regular free shuttle bus to the Grand Mall in Hurghada, just 30km away.


Facilities

This luxury resort extends over several levels and is designed in the oriental style. There is a spacious lobby with reception offering free WiFi access and a comfortable lobby bar. There are more bars throughout the hotel plus a variety of buffet and speciality restaurants, with indoor and outdoor seating.

Evening entertainment is provided in the show bar on the beach promenade. The real star of the Sunwing show is the huge water park. The hotel is built around the water park which offers a variety of exciting aquatic features including water slides (515 metres in total!), waterfalls, a wave pool, FlowRider, children’s water fortress and a lazy river as well as plenty of more relaxing pools. Some of the swimming pools are heated in winter. Sun-loungers and parasols are provided free of charge at the beach and pool, and a beach bag with beach towels is provided in every room.

The hotel has its own pharmacy and shopping boutiques.

 


Accommodation

All rooms are stylishly decorated, and offer spacious, comfortable accommodation, with a balcony or terrace, bath, separate shower, WC, hair dryer, air conditioning, refrigerator, safe, telephone, free WiFI access, and a flat screen TV with satellite channels.
Junior Suites have a king size bed, and a generously sized lounge area. There is a sofa bed for a child or third adult.
Royal Suites are larger and include a Jacuzzi.
Family suites have a bedroom with king size bed plus a separate living room with 2 single beds and a double sofa bed.
“Happy Baby Suites” are tailored for couples with very young children, and have many child-friendly features plus a small fenced garden area.

All Inclusive
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served at the main buffet restaurants. There are several à la carte restaurants offering All Inclusive evening menus, plus additional speciality items at extra charge. Snacks, waffles, ice cream, tea and coffee are available during the day.
Additional à la carte dining options at the Makadi Mall are included, with a choice of French, Italian, Oriental, Chinese and Indian cuisine.
Guests are issued with an All Inclusive wrist band which must be worn at all times. Reservations are required for all à la carte restaurants. More information about the all inclusive programme can be obtained locally.
This is a non-smoking hotel: smoking is only permitted on the promenade and the beach.

Evening entertainment is provided, with a regularly changing programme of live music and shows.

Waterworld Aqua Park

RED SEA HOTELS’ first water park, Sunwing Waterworld Makadi offers incredible fun for the whole family. There are loads of swimming pools with giant waterslides, wave pool, a lazy river and a Rain Fortress all guaranteeing plenty of watery fun for everyone.

The children’s pool is wide and shallow, making it safe for all ages to have fun or cool off. The giant rain fortress in the middle has plenty to keep the kids entertained, from mini water slides, to water cannon and a giant bucket that tips over to guarantee that nobody stays dry!

For even more excitement, go to the water slide pool with its 515m of slippery, slidy action. It has 5 giant slides that drop up to 18m, and have plenty of bumps and curves to add the excitement. The Family Slide lets everyone share the fun but for a bit more action, try the Tube or Wild Water slides. For the ultimate thrill, climb the staircase to the Aqua Loop, Egypt’s only loop-the-loop water slide: with a near vertical drop at the start and the famous loop in the middle, it’s guaranteed to get your heart racing!

A recent addition, the FlowRider is brilliant way to enjoy the thrills of surfing a giant wave. For more wave action, head to the wave pool, where you get the fun of swimming in the sea in the safety of our swimming pool.

Entry to the Aqua Park facilities is included for all guests staying at the Sunwing Waterworld Makadi and Sunwing Family Star hotels.

Guests at other RED SEA HOTELS Makadi Bay hotels can buy a Day Pass for the Aqua Park. The Day Pass costs €15 for children aged 2-13 / €30 for adults, and includes drinks and snacks in the Tropical Snack Bar, Relax Pool Bar. “Crepes & Sweets” and the Lime Bar, during Aqua park opening hours.

All guests using the Aqua Park facilities must wear either a Sunwing Waterworld Makadi / Makadi Family Star wrist band or a Day Pass wrist band.
